Language Exchange

A language exchange involves interacting with a real person who speaks your language and the language that you would like to learn. It is best for both parties to have some knowledge of the two languages that are used in the language exchange and also for each person to be a native speaker of their own language. For example: My native language is English but I speak Spanish and want to learn more. My language exchange partner will ideally be a native Spanish speaker who speaks English and wants to learn more. They may want to improve their pronunciation, enhance their fluency and increase their English vocabulary with me. I may have the same or similar goals. It’s important that the language exchange partners use both languages equally in the exchange. For example: In a one hour language exchange, you may spend 30 minutes speaking English and then 30 minutes speaking Spanish.
