Welcome to the opportunity of a lifetime, a place where you can learn and practice your Spanish! Through this website you will also be able to interact and meet with native Spanish-speakers in NYC and throughout the Spanish-speaking world. Learning a language is not a spectator sport, it is a pursuit that you should immerse yourself into actively. This website will connect you to Spanish-speaking people and places where you can go to experience the vast cultural richness and diversity of the many different Spanish-speaking countries and cultures. One of the most amazing things about the Spanish language is that it is the official language of 21 countries and within each of the 21 countries is a unique set of cultural practices and perspectives.

This website has been designed as part of my thesis project in Educational Technology at Adelphi University. The inspiration behind the idea of spanishclassesinnyc.com evolved from conversations that I have had with many people over the years that have taken Spanish classes and either never became fluent in Spanish or have lost what they gained as a student due to the lack of practice and opportunities to utilize their language skills. I always tell my students that learning a language is a journey, not a destination. Even in your native language you are always learning new words, expressions and phrases throughout your life. Whether you want to pick up from where your left off in your high school or college Spanish class, or you are eager to explore and experience learning Spanish as a new hobby, this is a great place to start.

After Mexico, the United States has the second largest Spanish-speaking population. If you listen carefully, while you are learning Spanish, you will hear Spanish spoken almost everywhere you go. It is predicted that by the year 2050, Spanish will be the most widely spoken language in the United States.

¡Prepárese por una jornada inolvidable!
Prepare yourself for an unforgettable journey!

With love,
